  Where We Build

Habitat for Humanity of Telluride Region is committed to building housing in all parts of our service area, including the Towns of Telluride, Mountain Village, Ouray, Ridgway, Norwood and Rico and San Miguel County, Ouray County and the Rico Growth Area of Dolores County.

Our first project is in Norwood, Colorado. The Board of County Commissioners of San Miguel County has transfered land in Norwood to Habitat for Humanity of Telluride Region. The site is on the corner of Naturita St and Pine St (1 block south of Grand Ave). It is one block from Clark's Market, centrally located in a residential neighborhood four blocks from the school. The site is 240 feet x 300 feet (72,000 square feet equals 1.65 acres). Approximately one-half of this land will be used as a site for six Habitat houses, and the other one-half of the land has been transferred to the Town of Norwood for use as a town park. Three houses have been completed on Naturita Street as well as one on San Miguel Street. We have two more building lots on San Miguel Street and are making good progress on our fifth house for which we broke ground this past August. The subdivision is called Pine Street Gardens.
